Temple of the Three Windows Study
Oil on linen, x x 3.7cm
In Temple of the Three Windows Study I channel architecture, light, and sacred space into a contemplative mise‑en‑scène. The three apertures are windows not just in stone or mortar, but portals in time—thresholds through which earthly and spiritual realms converse. Framed by architectural geometry, light filters in, casting shadows that shift with inner and outer light. I envision the piece as a temple in miniature, a place of pause, where form becomes ritual. Echoing the Quechua tradition of mountains as apus—sacred guardians—the structure frames a distant peak, evoking protection, lineage, and the presence of ancestors. Each window is a gesture of opening, of letting the immaterial enter: the sky, the breath, the memory. Through oil on linen, I seek to balance solidity and void, structure and absence, creating a space that holds both the weight of stone and the ephemeral radiance of dawn. It is an ode to reverence—toward architecture, toward nature, toward the mystery beyond sight.
