This painting is a juxtaposition of rubbish bags, rubber gloves, and shamanic patterns with the Himalayas across the centre. The painting is a bridge work which links my body of work devoted to shadow realms and the collective subconscious to my mountain paintings. A neon strip of Himalayan mountains shines over the centre of the image, this illuminates the upper portion of the painting. In depicting bin bags the painting is a comment on the littered quality of some pristine environments. The bin bags and rubber gloves are painted in a style to heighten their fetishistic appeal. Although the waste could be deemed ugly it serves to remind us of the utility of mans desire to overcome all terrain, but at what costs?
