Alexander painted this peak in anticipation of his next expedition to climb in Nepal in the post monsoon season of 2014. This piece was painted from a photograph taken the world renound climber Reinhold Messner. The piece seeks to translate into paint the feeling of a celestial mountain rising above the distant jungle haze. In only painting the fluted snowfields of the mountain itself Alexander seeks to paint the light refracted in the air, not the mountain in its wholeness.
